Hot Flashes

If so, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication, which is taken by mouth, in women who are experiencing moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms, commonly called hot flashes, associated with menopause.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if:

  • You are a female over 40 years of age at time of your first visit

  • You have more than 7-8 moderate to severe hot flashes per day (average) or 50-60 moderate to severe hot flashes per week for at least 30 days

  • You meet one of the following criteria:

    • you have not had a period for at least 12 consecutive months or

    • you did not have a period for at least 6 months and meet the biochemical criteria for menopause (this is determined through standard laboratory tests) or

    • you have had both ovaries and fallopian tubes removed (with or without hysterectomy) for more than 6 weeks.

Study participation lasts approximately 24 weeks and requires approximately 6 visits to the doctor and 8 phone calls from the doctor’s office. All study-related office visits, medical examinations, and the investigational medication will be provided to qualified study participants at no cost.
