This website is dedicated to the memory of Jay M. Cooper, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., who passed away February 4, 2004, after a long illness. Dr. Cooper was long active in the clinical evaluation of pharmaceuticals, as well as medical and surgical devices. He served as a consultant to pharmaceutical and medical device companies; developed alternative management options for women troubled with uterine fibroids and excessive menstrual bleeding; and he was the driving force behind FDA approval of a less invasive option for female permanent sterilization. Dr. Cooper was a gifted mentor, lecturer, and scientist and authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.
We, at Women's Health Research, will miss Dr. Cooper's expertise, sense of humor, and passion for clinical investigation. He was, and still is, an inspiration to us all. |
